Thanks to supporters like you, each year we provide love and care for
hundreds of pets, offering them a safe place while they wait for their new
homes. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that all donations will be
matched by a generous donor up to $5,000, doubling the impact of your

Every dog and cat, puppy and kitten leaves a lasting impression on all of
us at AHS. I’d like to highlight two memorable pets whose lives were
transformed with your help.
Bobby, a senior Sheltie, arrived underweight and with matted fur due to
his owner’s medical emergency. Despite his hardships, hope glimmered in
his eyes. With tender care from our staff and veterinarians, Bobby
flourished into a playful companion, charming the hearts of everyone he
met. Thanks to the dedication of AHS staff and volunteers, Bobby found a
loving forever family where he’ll spend his golden years in the lap of
luxury.
Then there’s Iris, a stray cat needing treatment for an eye illness. Shy and
scared, she received compassionate care and medical attention at AHS.
Unfortunately we could not save her eyes, but following a surgery, her
sweet and playful nature emerged. Once fully healed, she’ll make
someone the best companion kitty. Could that be you?
These stories are a fraction of the hundreds of dogs and cats that
received care and found homes in 2023. Despite a high influx of animals,
we remained committed to providing refuge for those in need, including
those subjected to cruelty and neglect. We were honored to help
embrace 22 dogs, 10 horses, and 3 cats from abusive environments,
offering them solace and care within our shelter walls.
However, our most shining triumph is our save-rate of 94%, proving that
we remain committed to giving each animal a chance for a better life.
None of these accomplishments would be possible without your
