Our Shelter Buddies program started in 2018 with our new Adoption Center. Since then, it has grown exponentially, with over 400 active buddies currently in the program, and always expanding!
This program is open to any child ages 4-15 and is a great way for younger volunteers to spend time at the shelter and interact with the animals. The goal of the program is 2-fold – help students improve reading skills and help the shelter animals feel more comfortable and become more socialized with people during their stay.
