Ready for a new dog?

There are several things to consider when adopting a dog. One should consider type, size, breed, individual needs, activity level, etc. of a dog to be sure it is the right fit for your family. You should also consider your own schedule, activity level, lifestyle, and finances before bringing a dog into your home. We have several trained and knowledgeable staff waiting to assist you in the decision making process.

See below for additional information regarding our adoption process. You must be 18 or over to adopt with a valid form of photo ID showing your current address.

When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.

What's next?

Once you know you are ready to adopt, you can begin to look around. The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our Adoption Application online or at the shelter. Application processing time can vary depending upon how long it takes for us to hear back from references, landlords if applicable (please upload your lease with your application), etc. We ask for your patience and understanding during this time, as our number one priority is to find the right placement for our animals.

Once your application has been approved, you can then choose which dog you’d like to make part of your family. All individuals living in your household must meet the dog before adopting and dog-to-dog meet and greets are required.

You will be able to take that animal home for a 2 week trial period to afford the animal time to decompress from shelter life and allow their true personalities to come out. You’ll get to know them, they’ll get to know you, and you can determine if they are the right pet for you. If they are, great! No need to do anything else.  If, for whatever reason, they are not the right pet, bring them back during the trial period, and we will find them another home.

Please keep in mind that shelter spacing is limited, therefore we cannot hold any animal while your application is being processed or while you make a decision. Adoptions are processed on a first-come, first-serve, best-fit basis, and we reserve the right to deny any application for any reason.
